Apprenticeships
Completing their educational journey with practical skills and formal education, apprentices and trainees bring added value to your workplace. Incorporating apprenticeships and traineeships into your hiring and training strategy allows you to:
- Introduce new skills to enhance competitiveness
- Prevent future skills shortages and safeguard your business
- Access government funding, incentives, and rebates if eligible
- Tailor staff training to suit your business’s unique needs
- Foster a culture of success within your business
An apprenticeship is a structured training arrangement, typically lasting three and a half to four years. The training blends practical experience with complementary off-the-job training from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Apprenticeship qualifications can sometimes be completed at your workplace, minimising disruption to your business operations. Alternatively, experienced training providers can offer off-site training tailored to your business’s needs.
Traineeships
A traineeship is an agreement between the trainee and their employer, focusing on training in a specific industry while the trainee works and learns. Available for people of all ages, traineeships usually last between nine and 48 months, depending on the vocation and certificate level. With over 500 occupations across Australia, apprenticeships and traineeships cover Certificate II to Advanced Diploma levels, spanning traditional trades and emerging occupations in various business and industry sectors.
