Overview

Overview

Master Builders Association of NSW Pty Ltd (Apprenticeship Services) is a Registered Group Training Organisation (GTO). A GTO is an organisation that employs apprentices and trainees and places them with a host or training employer with whom they work whilst receiving on-the-job training in their apprenticeship or traineeship.

Master Builders oversee the quality of the training and pastoral care of apprentices and trainees. The apprentice and trainee may move from one training employer to another but remain employed by the Master Builders.

The training employers provide guidance and on-the-job training, enabling the apprentice and trainee to achieve their qualification – apprentices and trainees receive paid time off work to attend classroom training.

A training employer is one willing to take you on for a given period but who may wish to commit to something other than the full term that most apprenticeships and traineeships require. As a Master Builders apprentice or trainee:

  • You may find yourself working and learning under several training employers.
  • You may find yourself working and learning under one employer for the whole time of your apprenticeship.
  • You will get the same range of on-job and off-job experiences as any other apprentice or trainee.
  • You will be paid the appropriate wage under the Award.
  • You will be assigned a field officer who will visit you regularly to ensure things are going well with your training employer.

Choosing to undertake your apprenticeship or traineeship with a GTO opens doors to a wealth of opportunities and support systems. From financial stability to structured training, continuous employment, and unwavering guidance, GTOs pave the way for a successful and fulfilling journey in the workforce.

Master Builders Group Scheme is committed to merit and equity by ensuring that all applicants are selected under the guidelines and regulations of Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) and Equal Opportunity for the Women in the Workplace (EOWA) programs. Our EEO plan is actively incorporated with our overall strategic business plan, and as such, sexual harassment and discrimination in any form is not tolerated. Master Builders provide:

  • Award wages and conditions
  • A safe working environment free from any form of harassment
  • Arrange and monitor the on- and off-the-job training
  • Arrange rotations to broaden training opportunities
  • Regular monitoring, support and guidance
  • Arrange alternate work placements when required
