Learn the essential skills of First Aid for the workplace, the home and everyday environments.

Course Overview

The First Aid course teaches recognition of a wide range of First Aid situations, providing treatment for injuries and illnesses, the use of First Aid equipment, and effective communication and incident management.

Within the course you will learn the DRSABCD action plan, what to do in an asthma emergency, how to use a defibrillator, how to identify and treat bites and stings, and how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a stroke.

This one-day classroom First Aid course is delivered onsite at the Master Builders Education Centre in Norwest. The First Aid course deals with the provision of essential First Aid in recognising and responding to an emergency in the workplace.

This course will satisfy the OHS & WHS Acts to become the ‘nominated workplace First Aider’.

This course provides an outcome in First Aid. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for units deemed competent.

The Code of Practice recommends that refresher training in CPR should be carried out annually (12 months) and First Aid qualifications should be renewed every three (3) years.

Prior to attending the First Aid course, participants must complete an online pre-course learning module. The module consists of true/false and multiple-choice questions. Master Builders must receive a copy of the certificate at the time of enrolment.
